Mrs. Charles Hymes died at her home four miles northwest of Winterset, Friday, May 1st. Mrs. Hymes had been ill with heart trouble for the past seven months, and complications caused her death. She was 57 years of age.

Mrs. Hymes was the former Harriet Marguerite Addy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Addy. She was born in this county October 12, 1884, and has always made this community her home. On October 15, 1907, she was married to Charles Hymes, and they were the parents of eight children.

Mrs. Hymes is survived by her husband and their seven daughters: Mrs. Alice Putney of Burlington, Mrs. Elinora Barnes of Jefferson, Mrs. Edna Taylor of Earlham, Mrs. Virgie Leeper of Des Moines, and Maxine, Phyllis and Mondeva at home. A son, Charles Wyman, preceded his mother in death. She also leaves six brothers, Charles, Guy, Orvy, Clyde, Tom and Phin Addy of Winterset, and four sisters, Mrs. Blanche Brooker of Winterset, Mrs. Leo Walters of South Dakota, Mrs. Greta Darnell of Wyanesboro, Miss., and Mrs. Emma Thompson of Van Meter.

The funeral services were held at the North River United Brethren church Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. David Thompson, and burial was made in the North River cemetery.

Pall bearers were Charles, Clyde, Guy and Orvie Addy, Glen Thompson, and Tom O'Laughlin.
