Wednesday, January 3, 1945W. J. Weeks, a former resident of Madison county, died at his home near Guymon, Okla., on Dec. 13, according to word received here last week. He was 65 years of age.
Mr. Weeks was born in this county on Feb. 8, 1879, the son of Charles P. and Martha Ann Goare Weeks. He was reared in the community, and in 1901, was married to Miss Elsie Leonard of the Kasson neighborhood. They lived here until 1907, when they moved to a homestead in Chaves county, New Mexico. Nine years later they moved to Texas county, Oklahoma, where he was living at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Forrest Weeks of Holly, Colo., and Clarence and Russell Weeks of Guymon; a daughter, Mrs. Martha Landers of Amarillo, Tex.; a brother, Alfred Weeks of Cambridge, Ida; a half brother, Charles Weeks of Manhatten, Kan.; and two sistes, Mrs. Eva Steel of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Eda Vaughn of Winterset.
Funeral services and burial were held at Guymon.
