Former Resident Had Lived at Towner, Colorado Since 1916

Mrs. Mary J. Ford, a long-time resident of Madison county died Christmas day at the Lambs Memorial hospital in Denver, Colo. She was 82 years of age.

Mrs. Ford was the former Mary Josephine Amy, daughter of Lambert and Adeline Amy, and was born April 4, 1862, in Douglas township of Madison county.

She was married to Richard C. Ford on Jan. 13, 1882. They were the parents of eight children. Four of them, including Clare Ford who was killed in action in World War I, preceded the mother in death. The husband and father also died a number of years ago.

In 1916, Mrs. Ford moved to Towner, Colo., where she settled on a homestead, later moving into Towner, where her home was at the time of her death.

She is survived by four children: Mrs. W. J. Silliman of Towner, and Roy, Fred, and Guy Ford, all of Winterset. She also leaves eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 31 from Anderson's Funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Hold Services For Mary J. Ford

Mary Josephine Amy, daughter of Lambert and Adeline Amy, was born April 4th 1862 in Douglas Township, Madison county, Iowa. She grew to womanhood in this community. She departed this life at the Lambe Memorial Hospital in Denver, Colorado on December 25th 1944 at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 21 days.

She was united in marriage to Richard C. Ford on January 13th, 1882 and to this union were born 8 children, Eugene who was killed in France in World War I. Clare Ford, Mrs. Cecil Corwin and Mrs. Edith Bertholf and the father preceded her in death.

The four living children, Mrs. W. J. Silliman of Towner, Colorado, Roy, Fred and Guy Ford, all of Winterset, and eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends mourn her loss.

In 1910 she moved to Colorado near Towner where she settled on a homestead, later moving into Towner and living there until her death.

Funeral services were held Dec. 31st, Sunday at 2:30 p. m. at the Anderson Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Foglesong, Minister of the Winterset Church of Christ in charge. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
