MARGARET EVANS JOHNSTON

Margaret Evans Johnston was born in Iowa City October 27, 1868. Her girlhood years were spent on a farm northeast of Adair. She was married to William Johnston in her family home, and the couple spent most of their married life in North Dakota. They moved to the Earlham community in 1926. Mr. Johnston died in 1930. The Johnstons raised two foster children.

Mrs. Johnston passed away in Grand Island, Nebraska December 28, 1959. Funeral services were held at the Leeper Funeral Home December 31, 1959 with the Rev. Fotsch officiating. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
