Dickie McQuie Junkin was born to Joy and Irene Junkin, January 8, 1933 at Perry, Iowa, and departed this life, September 2, 1947 at the home of his parents in Adel, Iowa. His age at the time of passing was 14 years seven months and 24 days.

At the age of three, Dick moved with his parents to Earlham, where he started to school and lived for more than six years. At that time, the family moved to California. In August, 1943, he came back to Dexter to make his home with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Bast.

He rejoined his father later, traveling in the western states until he stared to school in Earlham a year ago. In June of this year, Dick moved to Adel with his family.

While in Dexter, Dick was an active member of the Boy Scouts, and a great lover of the outdoors. He had an almost perfect attendance record at Sunday School, and was an industrious worker in the Tuxs Society. On October 20, 1946, Dick was baptized into the Church of Christ at Earlham.

Dick always had a winning smile and a friendly greeting for everyone he met. None knew him but to love him.

He leaves to mourn his passing his parents, two brothers, George and Robert of Inglewood, California, and two sisters, Mrs. Eva Johnson also of Inglewood, and Mrs. Velma Routh of Earlham. Also a host of relatives and friends.
