Earlham, Iowa

Amy Dawn Armstrong, daughter of Albert and Amy Armstrong, was born January 16, 1910 in Madison county and passed away on August 11, 1961.

She attended country school in Penn Township and graduated from the Earlham High School with the class of 1927. Following her graduation, she taught two years at Pitzer school.

She was united in marriage to Max Jorgensen of that community on February 1, 1930. They lived in the Pitzer and Earlham communities until 1940 when they moved to a farm near Ames.

To this union were born four children. Surviving her are her husband Max, and three children, Mrs. Ross Weuve of State Center, Marlin Jorgensen of Ames and Mrs. Richard Sowers of Story City. Also three grandchildren, Gary, Kim and Kevin Weuve, her father Albert Armstrong of Adel and her sister Mrs. Harold Crawford of Earlham. Preceding her in death were her mother, Mrs. Amy Armstrong and an infant son Marvin Max.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, August 14, at the First Methodist church in Ames of which she was an active member. Burial was held in the Ames cemetery.
