Wednesday, June 27, 1973Alfred Howard Dies at Indianola
Alfred H. Howard, of Indianola, a native of Winterset, died Monday, June 18, at Good Samaritan Center in Indianola, where he had lived the last two years. He was 82 years of age.
Mr. Howard was born in Winterset March 2, 1891, a son of George W. and Sarah Moore Howard. He left Winterset at the age of 17 years, and had lived in New Virginia, Murray, Osceola and Indianola.
During his active years he was a lineman for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Alberta Jones of Des Moines and Mrs. Connie Krupa of Concord, New Hampshire. He also leaves seven grandchildren; a brother, John Howard of Winterset; and a sister, Mrs. Vera Welshons of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held last Thursday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Lon Reising, pastor of the Grace Baptist Church here. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
