MOLLY AUSTIN VAN GUNDY, Winterset

Funeral services for Molly Austin Van Gundy, 68, will be held Thurs., Nov. 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Shaull officiating. She died October 29, 1990 at Madison County Memorial Hospital.

A resident of Madison County since 1947, she was born to Maria Scharnagle in Prague, Czechoslovakia on July 10, 1922. She married Leonard Austin in 1946 in Munich, Germany. He died in 1973, and she married Glen Van Gundy in DeSoto on June 1, 1976. Mrs. Van Gundy was employed as a maid at the Howard Johnson Motel in Des Moines for 14 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and one brother.

Survivors include a daughter, Eva Belew of Macksburg; step-daughters, Glenda Wingfield and Janet Stewart, both of Des Moines; a step-son, Dennis Van Gundy of Des Moines; sisters, Anna Ziegler and Marie Bauchmann, both of Germany; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in DeSoto.
