George Vincent Vance of Winterset died Thursday, February 14, 1980, at Winterset Care Center North at the age of 92. A lifelong resident of Madison County, Mr. Vance was custodian of the Winterset Public Library before his retirement.
Born on October 10, 1887 in Madison County, he was the son of Walter H. and Lucy May Nichols Vance. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mary Barr of Winterset. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 16, at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at Worthington Cemetery.
