George Hoskins, Winterset

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 20, at Collins Funeral Home for George Hoskins of Winterset, who died Nov. 18 at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. He was 87 years old.

Born June 20, 1894 in Wright, Ia., he was the son of John and Edith Cook Hoskins.

On Jan. 30, 1924, he married Josephine Bennett in Winterset.

Mr. Hoskins was a veteran serving in World War I. He was a farmer by occupation, retiring in 1960. He was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled Veterans of Foreign Wars and attended Bear Creek Friends Church in Earlham.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Josephine; three brothers, Delbert of Des Moines, Wilbur of Boise, Idaho, and Russell of Dexter; and a sister, Mrs. Carol Thomas of Earlham.

Burial was at Fairview Cemetery.
