Dean Frank Hoskins, St. Charles

Funeral services for Dean Frank Hoskins, 76, were held Thurs., Jan. 10 at St. Charles Parish Church where he was a member. The Rev. Tom Webster of St. Charles and Model Lodge #315 officiated. Hoskins died January 7 at the VA Medical Center, Des Moines.

He was born July 14, 1914 in Lake Park to Chester A. and Cecil (Lawson) Hoskins and attended Lincoln High School in Des Moines. He married Arlouine Smith July 29, 1939 in Bethany, Mo. and was a retired service station operator. A World War II veteran, he was a member of Winterset Veterans of Foreign War, Model Lodge #315 A.F. and A.M., Model Chapter #174 of the Order of the Eastern Star and the St. Charles Lion's Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a half-sister.

Survivors include his wife of St. Charles; two sons, Michael of Des Moines and David of Nashville, Tenn.; four daughters, Carolyn Chemin and husband, Ken, of Deer Park, Tex., Linda Fernandez and husband, Sam, of Denver, Colo., Janet Rice and husband, Robert of West Des Moines and Karen Spahr and husband Bruce of Des Moines; two half-brothers, Lloyd Dimmitt of Milford, Del. and Lee Hoskins; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Burial was at St. Charles Cemetery.
