JOHN HORRAS OF WINTERSET DIES

Extended Illness Ends in Death of Well-Known Farmer

John Horras of Winterset, a long-time Madison county resident and one of the successful farmers of the community, died this Tuesday morning at a Des Moines hospital. He was 82 years of age, and had been a patient in the Des Moines hospital since Dec. 1.

Mr. Horras was born at Sigourney on March 14, 1882, a son of Henry and Susan Hein Horras. He came to Madison county as a young man, and spent the remainder of his life here. He was married June 12, 1907 to Stella Duff. Her death occurred in 1958.

He is survived by a son, Glenn Horras, of Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Friday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Mr. Striffler, chaplain at the Methodist hospital will conduct the services. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
