NELLIE HORN OF WINTERSET DIES

Extended Period of Failing Health Ends in Death Here Monday

Mrs. Nellie Horn of Winterset died Monday, Sept. 12 at a nursing home here. She was 59 years of age and had been in failing health for several years.

Mrs. Horn had been a resident of Winterset for 20 years moving here from Adair county.

She was born in Fulton county, Illinois on Aug. 6, 1901, a daughter of Harry and Mary Windsor Witherall. She was married at Greenfield in 1921 to Anton Horn. His death occurred here in 1955.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Duckworth, Jr., of Des Moines; two sons, Harry Horn of Winterset and Robert Horn, who is stationed at Ft. Bliss, Tex., with the U.S. army; four grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Jessie Glasscock of Stuart.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert Owens, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
