Sharon J. (Comp) Vander Linden, 56, of Des Moines died of cancer April 2, 1999, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 6, at Evangelical Covenant Church in Des Moines.

Sharon Vander Linden was born July 9, 1942, in Winterset and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a senior dividend technologist at Principal Financial Group and a member of the Covenant Women at Evangelical Covenant Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Comp of Madison County.

She is survived by her husband Melvin; two daughters, Diane Kaut and Lynn Block, both of Des Moines, her mother, Janice Butterfield of Winterset; two sisters, Norma Comp of Waukee and Linda Morrissey of Winterset; and four grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines.
