Winterset, Iowa; formerly of Newton, IowaVisitation: The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, July 20, 2006 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2006 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Friday, July 21, 2006 at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton. Military Honors by the VFW Post 1655 and American Legion Post 111.
Those left to honor John's memory are his five sisters, Zella Wolfkill of California, Isabella Chamberlain of Michigan, Lee Kauzlarich of Des Moines, Iowa, Mary Fox of Illinois, Norma (Norman) Rogers of Winterset, Iowa; his three brothers, Merico De Nato of Marshalltown, Iowa, Quinto De Nato of Burlington, Iowa, Chuck (Kay) De Nato of Cincinnati, Iowa; sister-in-law, Doris Maher of Mingo, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June in 2002; two brothers and two sisters.
John served his country in the U. S. Army during WW II. He was a part of the Normandy Invasion.John was 16 when he started working in the coal mines of southern Iowa and he built fighter planes in California before he went into the U. S. Army. John enjoyed camping and fishing. He was a production worker at the Maytag Company for 31 years.
John was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newton; Lifetime member of the VFW Post 1655 in Newton. He enjoyed camping and fishing.
