Death of Miss L. A. Helm

Miss Lee Ann Helm passed away at the home of her sister, Mrs. Minnie Foreman, Wednesday evening, March 4th. Miss Helm was 76 years of age at the time of her death. Death came as the result of an accident earlier in the week. On Tuesday she was struck down as she was attempting to cross the street near her home. The driver of the car is not known but no blame is attached to him.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Tidrick funeral home conducted by Reverend John T. Hall. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.

Miss Helm was the daughter of Meredith and Malinda Helm and was born May 11, 1854, in Lee county where she spent her early life. In 1910 she came to Madison county to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Linnie Foreman who at that time lived on a farm west of the city. In 1922 they moved to Winterset. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Foreman and two brothers, Charles Helm of Macomb, Illinois, and Thomas of West Point, Iowa.

Lee Ann Helm

Lee Ann Helm, daughter of Meredith and Malinda Helm, was born May 11, 1854, in Lee county, Iowa. Her early life was spent in Lee county.

In her early girlhood Miss Helm accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior, uniting with the Baptist church in West Point, Iowa. Since the time of her acceptance of Christ as her Lord she has been a faithful follower of her Master ever seeking to do His will by many acts of love and kindness to those with whom she came in contact.

In 1910 she came to Madison county to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Linnie Foreman, who lived on a farm west of Winterset at that time. In 1922 she moved with her sister to Winterset where she has since made her home, until the accident which caused her death March 4, 1931.

In 1923 she united with the Baptist church here, where she has been known and loved as a faithful, consistent member, ever seeking to encourage and help wherever and whenever she could.

She leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Mrs. Linnie Foreman of Winterset, and two brothers, Charles Helm of Macomb, Illinois, and Thomas Helm of West Point, Iowa. In addition to these already mentioned are other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services in her memory were held Saturday afternoon from the Tidrick Funeral Home, in charge of her pastor, Rev. John T. Hall, of the local Baptist church. Interment was in Winterset cemetery.
