Winterset Madisonian - Wed., September 11, 1946

Mrs. Ellen E. Niblo, who lived for many years on a farm east of Dexter, was buried in the Winterset cemetery on Aug. 23, following funeral services which were held from the Redfield Methodist church in charge of the Rev. E. Harold Jackson.

Mrs. Niblo was the widow of David R. Niblo, who was well known here, and she had lived for a year in Winterset. She was 94 years of age at the time of her death, which occurred at Redfield on Aug. 21.

Mrs. Niblo was the daughter of William and Sarah Sneath, and was born May 20, 1852, at Andrew in Jackson county. She was married there Sept. 25, 1871, to David R. Niblo, who died in 1912. All of her life was spent in Iowa with the exception of 11 years in South Dakota. For the last 27 years she had lived in Redfield and vicinity.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bert Sarchett of Redfield; and five grandchildren. Her two sons, William J. Niblo, and Frederick T. Niblo, preceded her in death.
