Mrs. Mattie Dean Vannatta of Peru died Sunday, June 25, 1967, at Memorial hospital in Winterset, at the age of 92 years.
Mrs. Vannatta had been a resident of Madison County since 1908. She was a native of Iroquois county, Illinois, where she was born Aug. 27, 1874. She was the former Mattie Dean Fox, daughter of Lewis H. and Clara Cone Fox.
She was married in Illinois in 1894 to John S. Vannatta. His death occurred in 1951.
She was a member of the Peru Methodist church.
Mrs. Vannatta is survived by a son, Ray E. Vannatta of Peru; a daughter, Mrs. Clara M. Agan of Peru; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and four sisters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. James B. Nicholson. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
