JOHN VANNATTA Died Wednesday

Funeral services were conducted last Friday afternoon at the Richards Funeral home in Winterset for John S. Vannatta, a farmer in the Peru neighborhood for 43 years.

Mr. Vannatta died Wednesday, June 13, 1951, at the age of 78 years.

The son of S.W. (Samuel) and Eizabeth Vannatta, John Strawn Vannatta was born on Nov. 7, 1872 at Buckley, Ill. On Feb. 12, 1894, he married Mattie D. Fox.

In the year 1908 he moved to Iowa and has since resided on a farm near Peru.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Ray E. Vannatta; one daughter, Mrs. Clara M. Agan, both of Peru; a brother, George of Perry; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Datwyler of Winterset, and Mrs. Cora Gordon of Bentonsport, Iowa; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
