Mary B. Kirby, 91, of Winterset, died January 12, 1994 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were held at Collins Funeral Home on Sat. Jan. 1, 1994 with the Rev. Donald Frank officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born January 29, 1902 in Madison County to Charles N. and DeVone E. (Cline) Bruett. She married Gene Kirby on March 1, 1939 in Grant City, Missouri. Her first husband, Earl Hardy is deceased. She was a retired nurse and a lifetime resident of Madison County. Her religion was protestant.

She was preceded in death by both husbands; three brothers and two sisters.

Surviving relatives include one son, Leon Hardy and wife Virginia of Des Moines; one daughter, Maxine Hart and husband Ivan of Winterset; one brother, Clifford Bruett of Winterset; one sister, Margaret DeVault of Winterset; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
