MABLE RICHENS, Afton

Mable B. Richens, 94, died Nov. 12, 2004, at the Afton Care Center.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 19, at Powers Funeral Home in Afton with Pastor William Richardson officiating. Burial was at Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery in Vernal, Utah.

Mable Richens was born Oct. 13, 1910, to Joseph Crosby and Mahala (Eggleston) McDonald of Farmington, N.M. She grew up working on the family farm. In 1956, Mable married John Richens in Vernal, Utah. After their marriage, they settled and worked in the Vernal area. Following her husband’s death in 1973, she moved to Koshkonong, Mo., and later to Steelville, Mo., before moving to Afton in July of 2003.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Mary Harpole.

She is survived by three sisters, Margaret Spick of Martensdale, Thelma Speer of West Plaines, Mo., and Georgia Silverthorn of Afton; and a brother, Louis McDonald of Winterset.
