Thursday, November 1, 1945Mrs. Charles Merical died at her home in Adel, Saturday, October 27. Funeral services were held Monday at the Adel Methodist church. Rev. A. V. Long was in charge. Casket bearers were Fred Wilkie, Sheldon Strong, Walter Hall, Cas. Compton, Clarence Pryor and John Beane.
Those in charge of the music were; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fry, Bert Fry, Mrs. Chas. Maxwell and Mrs. Leo Conrad. Burial was made in the cemetery at De Soto.
OBITUARY
Arminnie Merical, daughter of Michael and Matilda Longmire, was born March 17, 1873 in Dallas county, Iowa, and departed this life on October 27, 1945 at her home in Adel, Iowa at the age of 72 years, seven months and 10 days. She lived her entire life in this vicinity.
She was united in marriage to Charles Edgar Merical on November 20, 1895, at her home in Earlham, and was to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary November 20 of this year. To this union was born seven daughters and two sons: Mrs. Florence Dimel of Earlham; Mrs. Data Pearson of Dallas Center; Mrs. Josephine Manders of Waukee; Miss Mildred Merical of Adel; Mrs. Virginia Bechtel of Mount Ayr, Iowa; Mr. Dale Merical of Royal Oak, Michigan; Miss Ruth Merical of Adel; Mrs. Fern Shaw of Earlham; Mr. Lester Merical of Waukee.
Besides her husband and children, she is survived by twenty-one grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Two brothers, Lester Longmire and Alonzo Longmire preceded her in death.
She was a loving wife and mother and will be missed by all who knew her.
She joined the Methodist church when a young girl and had her membership transferred to Adel, where she has made her home for the past 3 years.
