Page 2Services Held For IVAN VASEY
Ivan Albert Vasey of Truro died Thursday, December 6, 1979, at Des Moines General Hospital at the age of 68. Mr. Vasey was a farmer in the Truro area since 1937.
Born on January 11, 1911, at Rhodes, Ia., he was the son of George and Mae Pyle Vasey. He attended schools in Minnsota and Iowa and on May 21, 1935 was married to Eva Ruth Smith in Des Moines. Mr. Vasey was a member of the Christian Church in Truro.
He is survived by his wife Eva; 12 children, Ruby Adamson, Alice Champlin and Janet Miller of Indianola, Charles Vasey and Betty Griffiths of Norwalk, Robert Vasey and Steve Vasey of Truro, Ralph Vasey of St. Charles, Bonnie Groth and Mary Wenck of Prole, Viola Christensen of Eldora, and Albert Borton of Roland; two brothers, Frank Vasey of Des Moines and Lawrence Vasey of Missouri; and three sisters, Loretta Kroner of Marshalltown, Irene Patterson of Garden Grove and Dorothy White of Grand River.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Shirley, and a brother, Johnny.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 8, at the Christian Church in Truro with the Rev. George Campbell officiating.
