Electric Shock Victim Had Served in Army Four and Half Years

Funeral services for Donald Hope of Winterset, the young man fatally injured last Wednesday by a high voltage wire at the Clyde Guye farm, were held Sunday from Richards funeral home. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mr. Hope was 30 years of age. He was a son of Claude and Grace Hope, and was born at Winterset Oct. 13, 1919. His entire life was spent here with the exception of four and one-half years during which he served in the U.S. army during the recent war.

He served overseas on the European theater of operations and received the Purple Heart medal for wounds received in action.

He is survived by his parents; his twin sister, Mrs. Dorothy Bush; four other sisters, Mrs. Irene McCollum of Davenport, Mrs. Gertrude Mapes and Mrs. Helen Tolly of Winterset and Mrs. Edna Addy of Des Moines; three brothers, Ralph Hope of Winterset, Harold Hope of Portland, Ore., and Leland Hope of Winterset.
