OBITUARY

Margaret was born on a farm west of Booneville, Iowa, June 23, 1869 to David and Rebecca Gresham.

She later married Alfred Hibbard to which union there were no children born.

Although she had no children of her own, she always had room for someone. She helped raise her sister's two boys, Martin and Ira. Their half sister, Grace, and later her two children, Lynn and Betty, also lived with Mrs. Hibbard in Earlham for a while.

Margaret loved the outdoors. Gardening and flowers were her favorites.

She always lived by the Golden Rule, "Do unto others."

She was a Christian and was a member of the Methodist church here in Earlham. She was active in the women's organizations, WCTU and Friendly Circle, until her health stopped this.

Margaret died, at the age of 100, Friday, June 19, 1970 at the Horton Nursing Home in Winterset, where she had been a patient for about 10 years. Had she lived until Tuesday she would have celebrated her 101st birthday.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Hubbard Gresham--1872; her father, David W. Gresham--1891; two sisters, Lorena and Letitia, and her husband Alfred in 1944.

Although she leaves no relatives, she leaves a host of loved ones and friends.
