LUCILLE BURD VANNATTA, Winterset

Services for Lucille Burd Vannatta, 87, a long-time Winterset resident, who died Oct. 21, 1983, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held at the Collins funeral Home Monday, Oct. 24 with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Winterset Nov. 24, 1895, she was the daughter of Burt and Josephine McCleeary Burd.

She married Lynn Irwin McComb. He died in 1959. She was married again to Ray Vannatta on Sept. 12, 1968 at Indianola. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the WSCS, Eastern Star and the Irish Club.

Survivors include her husband; brothers, Robert and Charles Martin, both of Winterset; and a sister, Mae Linn of Des Moines.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
