DON McCOY Died Monday

Don E. McCoy, operator of Don's Cleaners in Winterset for the last 15 years, died at his home here Monday, Nov. 30. He was 58 years of age.

Mr. McCoy was a native of Tama, where he was born Feb. 24, 1912, a son of John and Nellie Knowles McCoy. He was married in May 1939 to Viola Paulsen, who survives him.

He served in the U. S. Armed Forces during World War II, and was a member of the American Legion. He came to Winterset in 1955 and had operated the cleaning shop here since that time.

He was a member of the Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves five daughters, Mrs. Ken Fiscus of Adel, Mrs. Larry Weaver of Osceola, Mary M. McCoy of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Donald Bristow of Winterset, and Peggy McCoy of Springfield, Mo. He also leaves eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Newton Coughenour, pastor of the First United Methodist church of Winterset. Burial was to be made at Pleasant View cemetery in Thornton, Iowa, with graveside services at 3 p.m.
