Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, August 8, at 10:30 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home for Rodney Dee Penick, 25, who died Saturday evening, August 5, 1978, in an automobile accident on Highway 169 north of Winterset.
He was born June 1, 1953, in Des Moines, the son of John J. and Rose Mary McKinney Penick. His marriage to Sherry Lynn McKeever took place December 18, 1977, in Winterset. She survives her husband.
Mr. Penick was a resident here about one and a half years. He was a laborer for Penick Concrete, Inc. of Booneville and an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Lynn; a daughter, Heather Jane Penick at home; three brothers, Raymond of Columbus, Ga., John of Booneville and Michael of Columbus, Ga. and three sisters, Mrs. Earl (Rose Ann) Lemon of DeSoto, Mrs. Howard (Mary Lou) Hodges of Des Moines and Mrs. Joe (Karen) Fitzpatrick of Clemons, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard.
Officiating at Tuesday's services for Rodney Penick was Father John Cunningham of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset. Burial was made at the Peru Cemetery.
