Wednesday, July 20, 1966RUTH E. STUART Dies At 70 Years
Mrs. Lawrence R. Stuart of Scott township died Saturday, July 16, 1966, in a St. Charles nursing home. She was 70 years of age.
Mrs. Stuart was a resident of Madison county most of her life. She was the former Ruth Esther Garst, daughter of John and Mary Ellen Hogg Garst, and was born in Walnut township January 30, 1896. She was a member of the Peru Methodist Church.
She was married in 1915 to Lawrence R. Stuart, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Lloyd R. Stuart of Winterset, Lawrence R. Stuart of Denver, Colorado, and Ronald L. Stuart of Winterset; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Zoe Gardner of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. William Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church here. Burial was made in King Cemetery.
