Was Long-Time Resident of County; Buried at Patterson
A. M. Farris, formerly a well-known resident of Union township and later of Patterson, died at his home in Des Moines last Saturday at the age of 74 years. Death was due to heart trouble.
Mr. Farris was born in the northeast part of Union township, a member of a pioneer family in that community. His early life was spent in farming, but about 41 years ago his health failed and he moved to Patterson. Later he moved to Des Moines where his home had been for the past 27 years.
As a young man he was married to Miss Eva Bird. She died 27 years ago. He was later married to Mrs. Lida Brooker who succumbed in 1918.
Among his nearest survivors are his daughter, Mary Farris of Des Moines and a sister, Mrs. Seth Brittain.
Funeral services were held in Des Moines Monday and burial was made at Patterson. The Rev. Paul E. Becker and the Adelphic Masonic lodge were in charge of the rites.

Was Retired Des Moines Real Estate Operator.
A. M. Farris, 74, West Des Moines, retired Des Moines real estate operator, died at home Saturday evening. He had suffered from heart trouble several years.
Farris had lived in Des Moines 28 years, until moving to West Des Moines a year ago. He was a member of the Adelphic Masonic order; Acanthus chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the University Church of Christ.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Farris, West Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Seth Britton, Winterset, Ia.; and a brother, Francis, Ansley, Neb.
Services will be at 2 p. m. Monday at Dunn’s Funeral home. Burial will be at Patterson, Ia.
