Laura Mae Clyde Holst, 95, died Feb. 21, 2005 at East Towne Care Center in Independence.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, Feb. 23) at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Laura Holst was born Feb. 6, 1910, to John Charles and Amy (Jennings) Stuart of St. Charles. She had spent the early years of her life in southern Missouri. In the 1930s, she moved to Iowa-residing in Winterset from 1935 to 1954, and then moving to northeastern Iowa. Laura was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church in Winterset where she had taught Sunday school.

She was preceded in death by her four husbands, including William Everett Clyde; two brothers, John and James Stuart; and a sister, Ellen Ball.

She is survived by two sons, Jack Clyde of Center Point and Jerold Clyde of Winterset; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Foursquare Gospel Church in Winterset.
