Page 15, Column 8MRS. JENNIE HOLMES DIES AT 81 YEARS
Mrs. Jennie Holmes of Truro died Tuesday, June 10, at a nursing home in Osceola. She was 81 years of age.
Mrs. Holmes was a native of Kansas, where she was born at Council Grove on March 10, 1888. She was the former Laura Jane King, daughter of Thomas E. and Carrie Monroe King. Her early life was spent in Madison county, but she lived in Des Moines for many years.
She was married May 10, 1915 to William Holmes.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mary Patty, Mrs. Opal Kauzlarich, and Mrs. Ruth Hassell, all of Des Moines, and Mrs. Maxine Miller of Rockford, Ill,; a son, Homer Holmes in the Veterans hospital at Toma, Wisc.; two sisters, Mrs. Irma McNeally of Bull Shoals, Ark. and Mrs. Viola Christophel of Alpha, Minn.; a brother, Leonard King of Truro; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Kale Funeral home at Truro, in charge of the Rev. Jim Louk. Burial was made in Hartman cemetery.
