SERVICES FRIDAY FOR MRS. HOLMES

Funeral services were held Friday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset for Mrs. Elmer Holmes, formerly of Madison county, whose death had occurred Sept. 23 at Sacramento, Calif.

Mrs. Holmes was 83 years of age at her death. She was born in Madison county May 16, 1885, and was married here in 1908 to Elmer Holmes. They moved to North Dakota in 1916, where they lived until moving to California in 1947. Mr. Holmes died in 1952.

She was a member of the Congregational church in Sacramento.

She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Garnett Clark of Sacramento; four grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of a family of 13 children.

The Rev. H. E. Borum, pastor of the First Baptist church of Winterset, conducted the funeral services here. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
