CECILE McCLEARY Died Thursday

Mrs. Cecile McCleary, a native of Madison county died at the Madison count Memorial hospital, February 15, 1962, at the age of 78 years. Mrs. McCleary had been in poor health for the past 20 years, but became seriously ill with a heart attack the first of last week, and was taken to the hospital, where she died Thursday afternoon.

Mrs. McCleary, a daughter of M. O. and Nancy Hale Palmer, was born at Barney, September 22, 1883, where she spent her early life. She was married to Felix Simmerman in 1901, and they were the parents of one daughter, Lela. Mrs. Simmerman and daughter moved to Winterset in 1916, and this town has since been her home.

In 1921 she was married to Charles A. McCleary, of Winterset; he died January 3, 1946. Mrs. McCleary was a member of the Christian church.

In addition to the daughter, Mrs. Charles Butterfield of Winterset, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Julia Simpson of Winterset, two grandchildren, John Butterfield of Red Oak and Mrs. Tom (Jane) Davis of Cameron, Mo.; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. McCleary were conducted at the Collins Funeral home Saturday, Feb. 17, at 1:30 p.m., by the Rev. John E. Fink.
Burial was made in the Barney cemetery.
