Ray Holliday, Fontanelle

Ray Wendel Holliday, 92, of Fontanelle, died Jan. 30, 1995 at the Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle. Funeral services were Feb. 2 at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield. The Rev. David Kincaide officiated the services with burial at the Greenfield Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 13, 1903 near Greenfield to James E. and Mabel Seerley Holliday. He married Mary Martha Baier in Ames on Feb. 17, 1926. He was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church in Greenfield and served as Elder and Deacon. He was a member of Za-Ga-Zig Shrine; Masonic Lodge; Scottish Rite; Farm Bureau; and was Township Trustee and Clerk of Elections from 1928 to 1980.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Wendel Holliday and wife Janet of Greenfield, and Phil Holliday and wife Thelma of Greenfield; one sister-in-law, Carrie Baier of Greenfield; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
