Oneta Holliday, Nampa, Idaho

Oneta E. Holliday, 90, died Sat. Feb. 22 at the Nampa Hospital. Funeral services were held February 25 at the Nampa First Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Hendrickson officiating.

She was born July 30, 1901 to H. Clinton and Myrtle (McNeeley) Pierce and was educated in Russell, Calif. She attended the University of Northern Iowa and taught school in Lucas County for a few years. She married Roy E. Holliday January 23, 1921 in Iowa. In 1940 they purchased a confectionery store in Winterset where they lived for 15 years. In 1955 they moved to Nampa and established Holliday's Candy Store which they owned and operated until Roy's death in 1969.

Surviving are two sons, Dwayne A. and Kenneth, both of Nampa; a daughter, Margaret Ford of Nampa; three sisters, Alvis Schmidt of Redfield, D.S., Inez Debok of Chariton and Argie Appleby of Cortland, Kan.; two brothers, Neil Pierce of Guthrie Center and Everett Pierce of Chariton; seven grandchildren, including Gary Holliday of Earlahm and Rusty Holliday of Winterset; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa, handled arrangements and private family entombment was held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
