HAZEL BEATRICE RUEMLER

Hazel B. Ruemler was born the daughter of William and Deborah Simmons Phillips on April 25, 1914 in Agra, Oklahoma and died at the Care Center South in Winterset, Iowa on March 26, 2004 at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 2 days.

Hazel graduated from Earlham High School in 1933. Hazel and James O. Phillips were married in 1934 and James died in 1967. Hazel worked as a Pediatric Technician at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines for 18 years. Hazel and George Ruemler were married in 1972. Hazel and George moved to Indiana to retire and George died in 1989. Hazel then moved back to Earlham, Iowa in 1994.

Hazel was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter, the Earlham Dizzy Dozen Club and the Earlham Canasta Club.

Hazel leaves the following family to celebrate her life: son Paul Ruemler and wife Clevo of Monticello, Indiana; niece Leona Miller and husband Donald of DeSoto, Iowa; niece Wanda Merical of Grand Junction, Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; 5 nephews Jack and Cecil, of Oklahoma and Glenn, Roy and Ralph of Arizona.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents William and Deborah Phillips, her husbands James Phillips and George Ruemler, brothers Ed and George Phillips; sister Esther Wayne; grandson Ronald Ruemler, and a son Ralph Ruemler.
