OTIS B. SPEER Of Patterson Dies

Otis B. Speer, a well known Madison county resident for many years, died Wednesday, July 13, 1966, at his home in Patterson. A retired farmer, Mr. Speer had lived in Madison county since 1933. He was 84 years of age.

Mr. Speer was born at Princeton, Missouri, on April 30, 1882, a son of Benjamin F. and Martha Moore Speer. He was married in 1919 at Osceola to Nellie Bland. Her death occurred in 1954.

He is survived by four sons, Arthur Speer of Prole, Ernest B. Speer of Prole; Howard V. Speer of Branson, Missouri, and Warren G. Speer of Indianola; 10 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Friday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. James Louk. Burial was made in Montpelier cemetery near Patterson.

Transcriber's note: Per marriage certificate submitted by a family member, Otis and Nellie were married in 1909 rather than 1919.
