Funeral services were held Friday from the First Methodist church in Winterset for Mrs. Audra D. McClelland of Winterset, whose death had occurred Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Van Meter. The Rev. E. K. Burham, pastor of the church conducted the services. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
Mrs. McClelland was a school teacher in Madison county for many years, having taught the Grant school in Lincoln township and at the Patterson, Peru, and Scott schools.
She was 63 years of age at her death, which occurred suddenly at the doctor's office in Van Meter.
Mrs. McClelland was the former Audra D. Laughlin, daughter of Sam and Minnie Pearce Laughlin, and was born in Adair county, Feb. 18, 1903. Her home had been in Madison county for 35 years.
She was married in 1924 to Dwight C. McClelland. His death occurred in 1963.
She was an active member of the Methodist church here, serving in the W.S.C.S. She was also affiliated with the Clover club here.
Surviving are her son, Rex McClelland; her mother, Mrs. Minnie Laughlin of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Verle Person of Omaha; and two brothers, Dale Laughlin of Omaha, and Wayne Laughlin of Los Angeles.
