A farmer born in Madison County who lived here his entire lifetime, George Lyle Ramsey, 78, died Wednesday, March 3, 1976 at Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield, Iowa.
Born May 10, 1897, George Ramsey was the son of Alexander Ramsey, M.D. and Donna Ulery Ramsey. He was born in Webster Township of Madison County.
The marriage of Mr. Ramsey to Pluma Wilson took place January 21, 1929 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She preceded him in death in August, 1965.
George Ramsey attended the Methodist Church in Winterset. He retired from farming in 1963.
Survivors include a son, Rufus Ramsey of Greenfield and five grandchildren, also a brother, Worth Ramsey of Winterset.
Mr. Ramsey was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services for George Lyle Ramsey were conducted Saturday, March 6 at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Rev. Paul Bousfield officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
