Mrs. Clearinda Martz Dies

Mrs. Clearinda Martz was born May 9th, 1848, in Indiana, and was the daughter of Levi and Elizabeth Clearwater. She came to Iowa in 1851 with her parents and to Madison county in 1868. She was one of a family of eleven children.

She is the wife of Richard Martz and the mother of several children.

She failed in health in young womanhood and for the past forty years has been at the county home. A part of this time was spent at Clarinda.

The only relatives surviving in the county are Frank Clearwater, a nephew, of Van Meter, and Mrs. M. S. Van Hook of Winterset, a niece.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Ramsey-Richards funeral home at 3:30 by the Rev. W. C. Porter. Interment was in the Winterset cemetery.
