Page 1Death of Mrs. C. Macumber
Funeral services for Mrs. Clarence Macumber were held Wednesday afternoon, November 11, at 2 o’clock at Ord church. Reverend W. C. Porter of the United Presbyterian church and Reverend A. R. Weed of the West Star church conducted the services. Mrs. Macumber passed away Monday at the Macumber home in Monroe township after an illness of three years. She was 55 years old.
The deceased was the daughter of George and Mary Frederickson. She lived here many years. Four years ago Mr. and Mrs. Macumber and their son, George, moved to a farm in Monroe township.
She is survived by her husband and son, George, her mother who lives in Winterset, two brothers Oscar Frederickson of Peru and John Frederickson of Winterset. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery. More details of her life will be given in next week’s issue of the Madisonian.

Caroline Henrietta Frederickson, the only daughter of George N. and Mary Frederickson, was born in Monroe township July 6, 1877, and died at her home in Lincoln township the morning of November 9, 1931, aged 54 years, 4 months and 3 days.
On October 3, 1897, she was married to Clarence Macumber. Twenty years of their married life were spent in Winterset, the others in the Ord community. Their home was blest with one child, a son, George, who with his wife, his father and a close friend, Anna Hartsook, tenderly cared for her for many many weeks.
Carrie was always interested in the best activities of the church and encouraged the promotions of the best interests of the community. When she knew the end was near she expressed her happiness and fearlessness of the approach of death. Carrie was a noble woman, had that rare gift of making and keeping friends. She was a home lover, a devoted and happy wife, an ideal mother, a loyal daughter, an understanding sister, a true friend and an unselfish neighbor.
She is survived by her husband, son, daughter-in-law Bernice, aged mother living in Winterset and two brothers, Oscar of Peru and John of Winterset.
Rev. W. C. Porter assisted by the Reverend A. R. Weed conducted the services at the Ord church Wednesday, November 11th and the interment was in the Winterset cemetery, where the Winterset Eastern Stars held the final service.
