Winterset Madisonian - Wednesday, June 26, 1946

Mrs. Ida M. Wilson, member of a pioneer Madison county family, died Sunday at the Boone County hospital in Boone after an illness of five months. She was 86 years of age.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Madison county on May 14, 1860, daughter of Daniel and Fannie Baker, who were pioneer settlers in Walnut township. Her early life was spent in that community.

She was married April 16, 1886, to I. E. T. Wilson. In 1891 they moved to Winterset, which continued to be her home until 1938. In Winterset Mr. Wilson engaged in the meat business for many years, and served several terms as mayor of this city. His death occurred in 1932. Since 1938 Mrs. Wilson had made her home at Boone, with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Watkins.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Grace Watkins of Boone; two granddaughters; one great granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. Maude Black of Winterset; and a brother, Eldon Baker, of Flint, Mich.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Winterset Methodist church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. G. L. Hufstader, and the Rev. Mr. Brown of Boone. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
