Winterset Madisonian - Wednesday, June 26, 1946

Robert William Vetter, a resident of Winterset since 1939, died at his home here last Friday, following a heart attack. He was the husband of Mrs. Cornelia Vetter, Winterset librarian.

Mr. Vetter was 75 years of age, and had been in delicate health for many years. He was a native of Wisconsin, where he was born Nov. 11, 1870, at Beaver Dam.

He was married at Henry, S. Dak., on Dec. 21, 1904 to Miss Cornelia McMullen. They made their home in or near Watertown, S. Dak., for many years, where he engaged in farming. In 1921, they moved to Des Moines. During their residence there Mr. Vetter was employed by the American Railway Express company.

He came to Winterset in 1939, after Mrs. Vetter's appointment as librarian here.

In addition to his wife, he leaves one son, Herbert W. Vetter of Des Moines; a grandson; two brothers, Louis and Carl Vetter of Watertown, S. Dak.; and four sisters, Mrs. Oscar Lundgren of Watrtown, Mrs. Ella Lewis of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Elmer Eichorst of Medford, Ore., and Mrs. Annie Schulze of Beaver Dam, Wis.

Funeral services were held here Monday from Anderson's home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Glendale cemetery in Des Moines.
