Wednesday, June 19, 1946Mrs. Henrietta Bridges, a resident of Madison county most of her life, died last Friday at her home in Winterset. She was 73 years of age and had been bedfast for the last nine months.
Mrs. Bridges was the former Henrietta Fry, daughter of John Henry and Susan Gertrude Frye, and was born March 3, 1873, near Earlham.
Her early life was spent in this county, and she was married Feb. 13, 1895, to Austin Bridges. They were the parents of seven children, one of whom died in infancy. The husband and father died in 1934.
Her entire life was spent in Madison county, with the exception of a year and a half in the state of Washington.
She attended the Presbyterian church as a girl, and in 1939 was baptized in the Seventh Day Adventist church in Winterset.
Mrs. Bridges is survived by six children: John L. Bridges of Des Moines; Mrs. Mabel Bricker of Earlham; Charles C. Bridges of Milford; Mrs. Lois M. Clock of Muskegon, Mich.; Cecil L. Bridges of Winterset; and Mrs. Alta G. Rinard of Winterset. She also leaves 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Seventh Day Adventist church in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Hampton White of Osceola. Burial was made in the Fairview cemetery.
