Mrs. Margaret E. Storrs, long-time resident of Madison county, died Wednesday of last week at the home of her daughter, in Des Moines. She was 88 years of age.

Mrs. Storrs was a native of Jasper county, where she was born, near the town of Reasnor, on May 7, 1858. She was the former Margaret Elizabeth Janeway, daughter of Benjamin and Mary Jane Janeway.

Her early life was spent in Jasper county, and she was married at Newton on Nov. 7, 1874, to Eugene O. Storrs. They lived in Winterset until 1877, and then moved to a farm northeast of here, where Mr. Storrs died in 1908. Mrs. Storrs then moved to Winterset, living here until she was invalided by an injury sustained in a fall. Since then she had made her home with the daughter in Des Moines.

Mrs. Storrs was the mother of six children, one of whom, a daughter Blanche, died in December, 1943. The surviving children are: Leroy, Agnes Io, Colomar, Halden and Beattie.

Funeral services were held here Sunday from Anderson's home for funerals, in charge of the Revs. W. C. Porter of Horton, Kan., and William P. Gordon, pastor of the Winterset United Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
