DEXTER-George Harry Struck, 85, of Dexter, died of cancer at the Community Care Center in Winterset on Jan. 24, 1996. Services were held on Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter, with burial in Dexter Cemetery.
Mr. Struck grew up in Webb and graduated from Garfield Schools. He farmed with his father for a few years until June 1, 1932 when he married Christine Clausen. They moved to the Dexter and Earlham area, farming there.
Mr. Struck attended technical schools through General Motors on vehicle repair. He owned the Dexter Auto Repair and Pontiac Sales for many years. He also owned the Dexter Dairy.
In 1952, Mr. Struck was hired to maintain construction vehicles while the Thule Air Force Base was being built in northern Greenland.
Mr. Struck is survived by his wife; his children, Gerry Minson of Aurora, Colo., George Struck, Jr., of Seattle, Wash., Margot Ann Strong of Golden Colo., and Fred Struck of Renton, Wash.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
