Pearl Veed, 93, of Hays, Kan., died Oct. 23, 1998, at Hays Good Samaritan Center.
Memorial services were held today (Wednesday, Oct. 28) at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Hays with Dr. John Paulin officiating.
Pearl Veed was born Nov. 4, 1904, in Madison County to William and Carrie (Violet) McDonald. She married Harold Veed on Jan. 14, 1932, at Omaha, Neb. Pearl was a department store clerk for Gimbels in Milwaukee, Wisc., and a housemother for a Fort Hays State University fraternity. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hays.
She is survived by a son, Alan Veed of Alamogordo, N.M.; a daughter, Ellen Veed of Hays; a brother, Clarence McDonald of Winterset; three sisters, Blanche Hart of Phoenix, Ariz., Alberta Binns of Earlham and Edna Cregor of Des Moines; two grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Hays, Kan.
