Louie Della Vecchia, 84, of Winterset, died of congestive heart failure at his resident, on June 28, 1997. Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the Refuge of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Vincent LeMoine officiating. Burial will be at the Vista Memorial Gardens in Miami Lakes, Fla.
He was born Jan. 29, 1913 in Darby, Pa., to Carmen and Anna Della Vecchia. He married Kathryn M. Oarth in Pa. in 1943. He was a retired boat captain and moved from Miami, Fla. to Madison County last year. He was a member of the Refuge of the Sacred Heart in Madison County.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, and one brother.
Surviving relatives include one son, Charles E. Della Vecchia of Winterset; one daughter, Kathryn Russell of Winterset; one sister, Mary Specht of Aston, Pa., and four grandchildren.
