D. D. BERTHOLF Died Sunday

Davisson D. Bertholf, former resident of Madison County, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1971, at Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines. He was 82 years of age.

Mr. Bertholf was a son of Lenza and Josephine Williamson Bertholf, and was born in Madison county March 7, 1888. His home was in Madison County for 40 years, but in 1925 he moved to Des Moines. He was employed as an office Clerk at the U. S. Veterans hospital there until his retirement in 1968. At that time he moved to a farm in West Des Moines.

He was married at Creston on Oct. 15, 1921, to Grace Walker who survives him

He also leaves a son, W. L. Bertholf of West Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Ullstrom of Grand Island, Nebr.; four grandchildren; a brother, Donald Bertholf of Harlingen, Texas; and a sister, Mrs. George F. Smith of Winterset.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by Rev. Newton Coughenour, pastor of the First United Methodist church here. Burial was to be made in the U.B. cemetery in Jefferson township.

He was a member of the Jefferson township United Brethren church.
